about ERC

Elaine Rodger Consulting was established in February 2007.  Consultancy had been a possibility for some time, and during the last five years of my career within the NHS, I developed my knowledge, skills and experience with this in mind.  In the knowledge area, my MA in Leadership of Primary Care and PG Certificate in Public Health underpin my independent work.  Between 2002 and 2007, I was co-located with the Association of North East Councils and North East Assembly and worked with multi agency (primarily regional) partnerships in promoting public health improvement.

Public health interests and working with organisations, networks and partnerships from the foundation of my consultancy in health development.  The main areas of work have been in tobacco control, migrant health and older people.  Please refer to the portfolio page for details of typical projects.

Other areas of interest include workplace health, alcohol misuse, fuel poverty, and inequalities in health.  I am a member of Years Ahead (North East regional forum on Ageing) and took part in its task group on health in 2008.  I am a trustee of the UK Public Health Association with a brief for the regions and also chair its special interest group on alcohol and violence (UKPHA is currently in the process of merger with the Faculty of Public Health). Since 2007 I have been an elected parish councillor for Sandhoe, West Northumberland.

I hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance.  I am a preferred provider for Local Government Improvement & Development (LGID) Healthy Communities.
